I (Jason) originally built the Barre as a Christmas present for my wife, Kendra. Realizing the lack of personalized/artistic options on the internet, we decided other dancers might like the opportunity to own a wooden barre specifically made to fit their personal style.
I (Kendra) have danced my entire life. When you're a dancer, it's in your blood and it doesn't matter whether you're on a stage or your kitchen floor (hey, that has always been the best pirouette-ing surface in my house), you've gotta dance! Needless to say, when my husband surprised me by creating my very own wooden barre, I was so excited I cried—and then he couldn't get me away from it! The studio I grew up in had wooden barres and there is nothing like the feel, look and smell of real wood as you plié and stretch away.
